Dustin Diaz screencast on YUI

Dustin Diaz just posted an excellent screencast on YUI.

One of the reproach often made to YUI is the clutter it’s strict namespacing indulges. For example, YUI’s equivalent to Prototype’s $() is YAHOO.util.Dom.get(). Not much shorter, though more powerful, than document.getElementById().

During this screencast, Dustin explains how you can – through a smart use of JavaScript private properties and self-invoking function – get a $() function which offers the shorthand we all favor while maintaining a clean namespace.
